WebAug 31, 2024 · I see that many places strongly recommend running FT8 in split mode. Since the IC-7300 has two VFOs and supports split mode I chose the "Rig" setting in the WSJT-X settings. When I do so I see the radio shows "SPLIT" on its screen and does use separate receive and transmit frequencies. WebJul 20, 2024 · As another difference from the link, I use DATA / PKT vice USB for mode. On the 7300, this setting will automatically disable compression and set a few other desirable setting for FT8. I cannot remember all the benefits of using DATA / PKT vice USB at the moment, but I think it is generally accepted as the way to go.
