Solubility of ethylbenzene in water
WebThe present paper extends this analysis to the mutual solubilities of three C/sub 8/ hydrocarbons (ethylbenzene, ethylcyclohexane, n-octane) and water, which have been measured at the three-phase equilibrium pressure up to the critical temperatures (568, 561 and 539 K, respectively). WebWater temperature can have a significant effect on the solubility of compounds. Refer to the chart below to find reference values per gram of common compounds and salts (with chemical formula) at six temperatures of 100 g of water from 0 degrees to 100 degrees Celsius. The content and density of the total solution at 20 degrees are also provided.

Webpoint (18.0°C) make ethylbenzene highly flammable. The solubility of ethylbenzene in water is relatively low (150 mg·L-1 at 25°C), but is high enough to be of environmental concern. Ethylbenzene has a moderate octanol–water partition coefficient (log Kow 3.13), indicating a moderate fat solubility and consequently a http://www.jmcampbell.com/tip-of-the-month/2024/08/part-2-estimation-of-solubilities-of-benzene-toluene-and-ethylbenzene-into-acid-gas-loaded-aqueous-mdea-solutions/

This is why ionic compounds like table salt (sodium chloride) or compounds like sugar, dissolve in water but do not dissolve to any great extent in most organic solvents.
